Plug-in: IG – Set column value
Wouldn’t it be great if we can update values in the Interactive Grid the same way as we update Page Items in APEX?
This plug-in brings you that functionality. It’s also the second plug-in I’m releasing for my Kscope18 presentation about extending the Interactive Grid with plug-ins.
How to use
Pretty much the same as the native Dynamic Action: Set Value. By default, the plug-in will update the values of the selected rows but you can also specify to update all rows.
You can also use SQL Statement, PL/SQL Function Body or PL/SQL Expression. They will execute on server-side.
The main difference with the native Set Value action is that the ‘triggering element’ must be the Interactive Grid.
This is the only way to make sure you can actually select the columns which you want to update.
The most common use case would be that you add buttons in your Interactive Grid toolbar to update the columns.
I hope you’ll find this plug-in useful in your projects. If you have any issues, please let me know on GitHub.
